If you're looking for some classic Mississippi bluegill action, the small lakes and ponds around Crawford offer some great opportunities. These aren't trophy waters, but they are perfect for a relaxing day of fishing and some consistent catches. The best time to target bluegill here is during the spring spawning season, from late March through May, when they move into the shallows to nest.
