Focus your efforts in the cooler months, from late fall through early spring, when the water is oxygenated enough to support trout. Look for areas near inlet streams or deeper pockets where cooler water might concentrate. A local tip: the west side of the lake near the Ortega Highway bridge often holds fish. Small spinners, spoons, and trout worms are your best bet.
