Brown Trout

While Richmond, Illinois isn't a renowned trout fishing destination, there are limited opportunities for brown trout within a reasonable drive. Spring and fall are ideal times to fish, when water temperatures are cooler. Small spinners, spoons, and live bait like worms or crickets can be effective.
