The warmer months, from late spring through early fall, are prime time, as the water warms and the catfish become more active in their spawning patterns. Live bait like bluegill or bullheads are your best bet. A key local tip: focus on the areas where the river channels meet the lake, especially at night. Carters Lake has several boat ramps, but be mindful of water levels, as they can fluctuate. The flatheads in this area are known for their aggressive strikes, so be prepared for a good fight!
