Hybrid Striped Bass

Hybrid Striped Bass, or “hybrids,” provide exciting fishing action near Carl, Georgia. While not as common as largemouth bass, several lakes and reservoirs within driving distance are stocked with these hard-fighting fish. Lake Lanier, a short drive north, is a well-known hotspot for hybrids. Look for them schooling in open water, especially near points and humps. Trolling with crankbaits or casting swimbaits and bucktails are effective techniques. The spring and fall are prime times, as hybrids are more active when water temperatures are cooler.
