Hybrid Striped Bass

Hybrid striped bass aren't as common as largemouth bass in the immediate Everman, Texas area, but with a bit of travel towards larger reservoirs, you can find some exciting action. Focus your attention on nearby impoundments like Lake Worth or Eagle Mountain Lake. These lakes are stocked and support a healthy population of hybrids. The best time to target them is during the spring and fall when water temperatures are moderate. Look for schooling activity, especially early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Trolling crankbaits or casting swimbaits near points and humps can be effective. Live shad is also a great bait option. Pay attention to the wind direction, as hybrids often congregate on the windward side of the lake. Access is good at both Lake Worth and Eagle Mountain Lake, with multiple boat ramps available.
