Largemouth Bass

If you're looking to hook into some Largemouth Bass in northern Alabama, the waters around Eva offer excellent opportunities. Guntersville Lake, a short drive from Eva, is a renowned bass fishery. Its abundant vegetation, creek channels, and diverse structure provide ideal habitat for largemouth. Spring and fall are prime times, with bass actively feeding in the shallows during the spawn and pre-winter periods. During the hotter summer months, focus on deeper structure and early morning or late evening fishing. Try working crankbaits along creek channels or flipping jigs into the thick hydrilla. Bank access is limited around much of Guntersville, so a boat or kayak is recommended to fully explore the lake. Be mindful of fluctuating water levels, especially during the spring, which can impact bass behavior and access to certain areas. Look for areas where feeder creeks enter the main lake, as these often hold concentrations of bass.
