Largemouth Bass

Hurtsboro, Alabama, offers some fantastic largemouth bass fishing, particularly in the Chattahoochee River and its backwater sloughs and oxbow lakes. These areas provide ideal habitat for largemouth, with plenty of submerged timber, vegetation, and creek channels. Spring (March-May) is prime time, as the bass move shallow to spawn. The fall months (October-November) can also be productive as the fish feed heavily before winter. For bank access, try the public areas along the river near the Highway 82 bridge. If you're launching a boat, be mindful of the river's current, which can be strong, especially after heavy rains. Local anglers often have success with spinnerbaits and crankbaits worked along the edges of cover. The largemouth in this area tend to be aggressive, making for exciting fishing.
