Largemouth Bass
Targeting Largemouth Bass in Savoonga, Alaska, is an extremely unlikely proposition. The climate and environment of St. Lawrence Island are simply not conducive to sustaining a largemouth bass population. These fish are warm-water species and would not survive the harsh Alaskan winters. While it's always possible that someone might have attempted to introduce them to a small, isolated pond or lake, the chances of finding a viable population are virtually nil. If, against all odds, you were determined to try, your best bet would be to investigate any small, sheltered bodies of freshwater on the island during the warmest part of the summer (July-August). However, focusing your efforts on other Alaskan species more suited to the region would be far more productive.
