Largemouth Bass

The Fox River near Fox River Grove is a decent spot for largemouth bass, offering a mix of riverine and backwater habitats. The river's structure, including weed beds, fallen trees, and docks, provides ample cover for bass. Spring and fall are traditionally the best times to fish, as the bass are more active in cooler water temperatures. The spawn in spring is a particularly good time to find larger fish. For a practical tip, try targeting areas around the numerous docks and piers along the river, especially during the early morning or late evening hours. Topwater lures and shallow-diving crankbaits can be very effective in these areas. Public access is available at several parks and boat launches along the Fox River. Be mindful of the current and boat traffic, especially during peak season. The bass population in the Fox River is generally healthy, with a good mix of sizes.
