If you're chasing largemouth bass in Ohio, Illinois, you've got a diverse range of options, from the sprawling reservoirs to smaller, more intimate lakes and ponds. The Kaskaskia River and its associated backwaters are known for holding some real lunkers. Spring and fall are prime times. During the spring prespawn, focus on shallow, weedy areas and transition zones near spawning flats. In the fall, bass will be aggressively feeding as they prepare for winter. Look for them around points, submerged timber, and creek channels.
