Largemouth Bass

Round Lake Park offers some decent Largemouth Bass fishing within its local lakes and ponds. While not a trophy bass destination, the area provides accessible fishing for anglers of all skill levels. Round Lake itself is a primary target, but don't overlook smaller community ponds and connected waterways. Spring, particularly pre-spawn and spawn periods (late April-May), is arguably the best time to target Largemouth. Fish shallow weedy areas with crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and soft plastics. Summer can be productive too, but focus on deeper water and areas with shade. A local tip is to pay attention to water clarity; Round Lake can sometimes get murky, so adjust your lure color accordingly. Darker colors like black and blue often work well in stained water. Boating access is available, but be mindful of any local restrictions or permits required. Shore fishing is also possible at several locations around the lake.
