Spring is a fantastic time to target spawning bass, with pre-spawn activity kicking off in late February. Fall is also productive as bass fatten up before winter. Focus on areas with cypress trees, submerged vegetation, and fallen logs – these are largemouth magnets. A key local tip is to pay attention to water clarity. The Pearl River can be prone to fluctuating water levels and turbidity. If the water is clear, try using more natural-looking lures and finesse techniques. If it's stained or muddy, opt for brighter colors and lures that create a lot of vibration.
