Largemouth Bass

Loudon, Tennessee, offers some excellent largemouth bass fishing, thanks to its proximity to the Tennessee River and Watts Bar Lake. This reservoir is known for its diverse habitat, including submerged timber, rocky points, and grassy shorelines, all of which hold bass. Spring is a prime time to target largemouth as they move into the shallows to spawn. Spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and soft plastics are all effective during this period. Summer fishing can be productive early and late in the day, focusing on deeper structure and shaded areas. Watts Bar is also known for its healthy population of spotted bass, which often school together with largemouth. A local tip: The area around the Clinch River arm of Watts Bar can be particularly productive, especially where the river channel meets the main lake.
