Largemouth Bass

If you're hunting largemouth bass near Brier, Washington, Lake Serene and Lake Ballinger are your primary destinations. These lakes, though relatively small, offer decent bass fishing, especially during the warmer months. Spring (April-May) is the spawning season, and the fish will be in shallow water near vegetation. Early morning and late evening are often the most productive times. Lake Serene has limited shore access, so a small boat, kayak, or float tube is highly recommended. Public access is available, but parking can be limited, especially on weekends. Lake Ballinger offers better shore access and a boat launch, but it can get crowded. Local anglers often have success with plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. The bass population in these lakes consists mainly of smaller to medium-sized fish, but there's always a chance of hooking into a larger one. Be mindful of weed growth, which can become dense during the summer months.
