Summer is the peak season, as the water warms and bass become more active. Try working crankbaits or spinnerbaits along the rocky points, or flip jigs into the weed beds. Early morning and late evening are particularly productive. A practical tip: Alcova Marina provides boat rentals and information on current conditions. Be prepared for windy conditions, which are common in this area. The largemouth bass in Alcova Reservoir tend to be relatively slow-growing due to the cooler climate and shorter growing season, so focus on quality over quantity.
