Focus on areas with current breaks, such as bridge pilings, rocky points, and channel edges. Smallmouth here are keyed in on gobies, crawfish, and various baitfish, so natural presentations are key. Tubes, swimbaits, and crankbaits that mimic these forage species are highly effective. Spring and fall are prime times, as the smallies move into shallower water to spawn or feed aggressively before winter.
