Spotted Bass

While Queenstown, Maryland, isn't primarily known for spotted bass, dedicated anglers can find them in the tidal creeks and tributaries branching off the Chester River. These fish are more common in slightly brackish waters, so focus your efforts closer to the bay. Look for spotted bass around submerged vegetation, docks, and other shoreline structure. A good access point is the Queenstown Boat Ramp, which provides easy access to the Chester River. Be aware that spotted bass in this region tend to be smaller than largemouth bass, but they can still provide a fun and challenging fishing experience. Pay attention to tidal changes, as the fish tend to be more active during periods of moving water.
