Spotted bass, often called 'spots,' are a prevalent and popular target in the waterways around Lake, Mississippi. While overshadowed by their largemouth cousins, the spotted bass fishery here is robust. They thrive in the clear, rocky streams and rivers that feed into larger bodies of water, making this area ideal for targeting them. Unlike largemouth, spotted bass often prefer cooler water and can be caught year-round, although spring and fall are still peak seasons.
