While Monee, Illinois isn't necessarily known as a walleye hotspot, determined anglers can find opportunities in nearby waterways. Focus your efforts on the Kankakee River, a short drive southwest. Walleye tend to congregate near structure, so target areas with submerged timber, rocky outcroppings, and bridge pilings. Spring and fall are prime times, as walleye move into shallower water to spawn or feed aggressively before winter. Early morning and late evening hours are usually most productive.
