If you're looking to tangle with some walleye in Missouri, Laurie offers excellent access to the Lake of the Ozarks, a premier walleye destination. What sets this lake apart is its vast, diverse structure – from submerged timber and rocky points to deep channels and expansive flats. Walleye fishing here really heats up in the spring, particularly during the pre-spawn period in March and April when they move shallow. Fall is another prime time as they feed heavily before winter. For bank access, try fishing around the Highway 5 bridge near the Gravois Arm or utilize the public boat ramp at PB2 to explore the main lake. A local tip: slow-rolling crankbaits along submerged ledges can be deadly in the early season. The walleye in the Lake of the Ozarks are known for their good size, so be prepared for a fight!
