Walleye fishing near Fairview, Utah, requires a bit of a drive, as there aren't any immediate local hotspots. However, a trip to Scofield Reservoir, about an hour southeast, can be well worth the effort. Scofield is known for its healthy walleye population, offering anglers the chance to catch some decent-sized fish. The best time to target walleye here is during the pre-spawn (late April-May) and post-spawn (June) periods, as well as the fall (September-October). Try trolling crankbaits along the edges of the reservoir or jigging near submerged structure. A fish finder is essential for locating schools of walleye. Access to Scofield is generally good, with several boat ramps available around the reservoir. Be prepared for changing weather conditions, as the area can experience strong winds and sudden temperature drops.
