Walleye fishing near Roslyn, Washington, centers on nearby reservoirs like Lake Cle Elum. While not as renowned as some eastern Washington walleye fisheries, Cle Elum offers a decent opportunity, especially during the post-spawn period in late spring (May-June) and again in the fall (September-October) as water temperatures cool. Look for walleye along the rocky shorelines and submerged structure using jigs tipped with nightcrawlers or artificial lures that mimic perch or other baitfish. Trolling crankbaits can also be effective in the deeper sections of the lake. Access to Lake Cle Elum is available via several boat launches around the lake, but be aware that water levels can fluctuate, impacting boat access, particularly later in the season. Because the walleye population is not as dense as in other areas, persistence and covering water is key to success. Consider using your electronics to locate schools of baitfish, as walleye will often be nearby.
