White Bass

White bass fishing near Cimarron, Kansas, offers a fun, fast-paced experience, especially during their spring spawning runs. While the Arkansas River flows nearby, focus your efforts on the larger reservoirs further east, like those in Ford or Hodgeman County. These reservoirs see good white bass populations that move upstream to spawn in the spring (April-May). Look for areas where tributaries enter the main body of the reservoir, as these are prime spawning locations. Small crankbaits, spinners, and even white or chartreuse curly-tail grubs can be deadly.
