White Bass

Looking to tangle with some white bass in East Tennessee? Bulls Gap, Tennessee, offers some under-the-radar opportunities, particularly in the Holston River. Spring is prime time, as the white bass migrate upstream to spawn. Focus your efforts around rocky shoals and current breaks. Small jigs, spinners, and crankbaits are effective. A local tip: Many access points are along Highway 11E, but be mindful of private property. The white bass in this section of the Holston tend to run smaller than in some larger reservoirs, but what they lack in size, they make up for in numbers and fight.
