If you're looking for some fast-paced white bass action, Mildred, Texas, offers some solid opportunities, particularly in the Richland-Chambers Reservoir. This sprawling lake is known for its healthy white bass population. The spring spawning run is prime time, typically from late February through April, as the whites migrate up the creeks and rivers that feed into the reservoir. Look for them around the Highway 287 bridge or the mouth of the Chambers Creek arm. Early morning and late evening are generally the most productive times. A good tip is to pay attention to bird activity – diving birds often indicate schools of whites chasing shad. For bank access, try the public access points around the dam.
