White Bass

White bass fanatics, take note: Panorama Village provides easy access to the spring white bass run on Lake Conroe. These schooling fish migrate upstream to spawn, creating exciting fishing opportunities. The peak season is typically February through April, depending on water temperature. Focus your efforts in the creeks and rivers that feed the lake, like the San Jacinto River. A local hotspot is the area near the Highway 105 bridge, where whites often congregate. Small jigs and crankbaits are effective lures. Access to the river is available at several points along FM 1488, but be mindful of private property. White bass in Lake Conroe are known for their feisty fight, and you'll often find them in large schools, making for fast action once you locate them. Don't be surprised to catch several at once if you're using tandem rigs!
