If you're looking for some fast-paced white bass action in North Texas, Scurry is worth a look. The Trinity River and nearby Richland-Chambers Reservoir are your key locations. Spring is prime time, when the whites migrate upstream to spawn. Focus on the river above the reservoir and the creeks feeding into it. Look for areas with current breaks or submerged timber. Small jigs, spinners, and crankbaits are all effective. A local tip: check the river level before you go. Heavy rains can make access difficult and the fishing tough. The white bass in this area tend to run smaller than in some other Texas lakes, but what they lack in size, they make up for in numbers.
