The fall and winter months offer the best opportunities, as the sea bass tend to congregate in deeper waters. Standard bottom fishing techniques work well, using squid, clams, or cut bait on a bottom rig. A fish finder is essential for locating suitable structure. Be aware of the regulations regarding size and bag limits, as they can change frequently. Launching from a ramp closer to the Bay (such as Deltaville) will save you considerable travel time. Pay attention to tidal flow, as sea bass often feed more actively during periods of strong current.
