Blue Catfish

Kingsbury, Texas, offers some solid Blue Catfish opportunities, primarily within the Guadalupe River. This river system holds good numbers of Blues, and while trophy-sized fish aren't as common as in larger reservoirs, you can consistently find quality eating-sized catfish. The best time to target them is during the warmer months, from late spring through early fall, when they are actively feeding. Concentrate your efforts in deeper holes, around submerged structure, and near the river bends. Cut bait, such as shad or perch, is the go-to bait for Blues in this area. A Carolina rig is effective for presenting your bait on the bottom.
