Bluefish

Rehoboth Beach is a fantastic place to target Bluefish, especially during their seasonal migrations. These aggressive predators are a blast to catch and put up a great fight. The best time to fish for Bluefish here is typically from late spring through early fall as they follow schools of baitfish along the coast. Look for them blitzing on the surface, which is an exciting sight to see. Casting spoons, poppers, or swimming plugs into the feeding frenzy is a surefire way to hook up. For a more relaxed approach, try chunking with cut bunker. A great access point is the Indian River Inlet, where the strong currents concentrate baitfish and attract Bluefish. Be sure to use wire leaders as their sharp teeth can easily cut through monofilament. Also, respect other anglers and maintain a safe distance when casting.
