While not a traditional trout destination, Westchester, Illinois, does offer a unique opportunity for Brown Trout fishing thanks to stocking programs in some of the local waterways. These stockings typically occur in the spring and fall, so those are the best times to target these fish. The streams are small and can be challenging to fish, so stealth and finesse are key. Small spinners, spoons, and live bait (like worms or waxworms) are effective.
