Fayetteville, Tennessee offers surprisingly good carp fishing, particularly in the Elk River and Tims Ford Lake. The Elk River, with its slower currents and abundant vegetation, provides ideal habitat for carp to thrive. Tims Ford Lake also holds a healthy population, especially in the coves and shallower areas. Spring and early summer are excellent times to target carp as they become more active with warming water temperatures. A great access point is along the Elk River near the city park. Consider using corn or dough balls as bait, and be patient – carp fishing often requires persistence. The carp in this region tend to be good sized, often exceeding 20 pounds, so be sure to use appropriate tackle. Chumming the area you intend to fish can significantly increase your chances of success.
