Look for them around submerged structure like brush piles, docks, and weed beds. Spring is the prime time for crappie fishing as they move into shallower water to spawn. Use small jigs or minnows suspended under a bobber, adjusting the depth until you find where the fish are holding. A local tip is to fish near the dam or any inflow areas, as these spots tend to attract crappie. Summer crappie fishing can be good in the early morning or late evening when the water is cooler. As the water cools in the fall, crappie will often school up in deeper water. Keep an eye on your electronics to locate these schools and adjust your presentation accordingly.
