Walleye

Walleye aren't typically found in the immediate vicinity of Forest Falls. To target walleye, you'll need to travel a considerable distance, as they're not native to Southern California. However, heading north to places like Lake Almanor or Lake Shasta would be where you'd have the best chance. These reservoirs offer the cool, clear water and rocky structure that walleye prefer. Spring and fall are the prime times to fish for them, as they become more active in cooler water temperatures. Trolling crankbaits or jigging with nightcrawlers are popular techniques. Given the distance, planning a multi-day trip is advisable. Always check local regulations and fishing reports before heading out, as conditions and regulations can change.
