For panfish enthusiasts, Lake Zurich offers some excellent crappie fishing. These tasty fish are abundant and relatively easy to catch, making it a great option for anglers of all skill levels. Spring is undoubtedly the best time to target crappie, as they move into the shallows to spawn. Look for them around submerged timber, docks, and weed beds in the lake's coves. Small minnows and jigs fished under a bobber are highly effective. As the water warms in the summer, crappie tend to move to deeper water, so you'll need to adjust your tactics accordingly.
