Crappie

Crappie anglers in the Stone Park, Illinois area can find some decent action in the smaller lakes and backwaters connected to the Des Plaines River. These areas often provide the shallow, weedy habitat that crappie prefer. Spring is the peak season, as the crappie move into the shallows to spawn.
