Crappie

Crappie fishing near Midway, Kentucky, can be surprisingly productive in the numerous smaller lakes and ponds dotting the landscape. A simple jig and bobber rig is a classic and effective setup. A local tip is to use a small minnow or crappie nibble to entice bites. Many of these ponds are on private property, so be sure to obtain permission before fishing. Also, pay attention to water temperature, as crappie become more active as the water warms up. Early morning and late evening are often the most productive times to fish.
