Hybrid Striped Bass

Look for them near the dam during the spring, or around points and humps in the main lake during the fall. A productive tactic is to troll umbrella rigs or crankbaits along the main lake channels. A local tip: pay attention to water clarity, as hybrids tend to prefer clearer water. Also, be prepared for a strong fight; these fish are known for their powerful runs. The hybrid stripers in Lake Texoma are known for their schooling behavior, so once you find one, you're likely to find more. Consider using sonar to locate schools of baitfish, as the hybrids are likely to be nearby.
