Hybrid Striped Bass

Hybrid striped bass, often called “stripers,” offer a thrilling fishing experience near Iola. While not as common as other species, some larger private lakes and reservoirs in the area are stocked with these hard-fighting fish. Spring and fall are peak seasons when the water temperatures are moderate. Look for areas with current or wind, as this concentrates baitfish and, in turn, the stripers.
