Hybrid Striped Bass

If you're looking for hard-fighting action near Lubbock, consider targeting hybrid striped bass. While not consistently stocked in all local waters, Buffalo Springs Lake has been known to hold them. Hybrid stripers are known for their schooling behavior, so if you find one, you'll likely find more. They can be caught using a variety of methods, including casting crankbaits and swimbaits, trolling, and even fishing live bait. Look for them in open water, especially near points and humps.
