The best time to target them is during the warmer months, from late spring through early fall, when they're most active and aggressive. Look for them schooling near mullet or other baitfish schools. A topwater lure can trigger explosive strikes, especially early in the morning or late in the afternoon. For boat access, try the Garrison Bight Marina, which provides quick access to many productive areas. A helpful tip: jacks in Key West can be surprisingly line-shy in clear, shallow water, so consider using a fluorocarbon leader.
