Largemouth Bass

If you're looking to hook into some largemouth bass near Nashua, New Hampshire, you've got a few solid options. The Nashua River itself holds bass, but the real gems are the surrounding ponds and reservoirs. Mine Falls Park, with its canal system connected to the Nashua River, offers easily accessible fishing. Further afield, try searching out smaller ponds in the surrounding area, many of which hold good populations of largemouth. Spring and early summer, during the spawn, are peak times. Look for bass in shallow, protected areas with vegetation. A great local tactic is to fish weedless lures along the edges of lily pads and submerged vegetation. Be mindful of water levels in the Nashua River, as they can fluctuate. Also, be sure to check local regulations regarding boat access and permits for some of the smaller ponds. The bass in this area tend to be opportunistic feeders, so experiment with different lure types to find what they're hitting.
