Largemouth Bass

Vandemere, North Carolina, provides a great base for exploring the excellent largemouth bass fishing opportunities of the Pamlico Sound region. While not directly on a major bass lake, its location offers access to the diverse network of creeks, canals, and rivers that feed into the Sound, holding healthy populations of largemouth. A local tactic is to fish the canals off the Pungo River; they can hold some surprisingly large bass. Be mindful of the tides, as they can significantly impact water levels and bass activity.
