Weldon, North Carolina, known as the "Rockfish Capital of the World," also offers some excellent largemouth bass fishing opportunities. Spring and fall are prime times to target largemouth in the Roanoke, as the fish are actively feeding during these periods. Consider launching from the Weldon boat ramp for easy access to the river. When the Roanoke is running high and muddy, focus on backwater areas and creeks where the water is clearer. Lipless crankbaits and spinnerbaits can be effective in stained water, while topwater lures and soft plastics work well in clearer conditions. Be mindful of the Roanoke's current, as it can be strong, and always practice safe boating.
