The river itself can be productive, especially in backwater areas and near submerged structure. Spring and fall are the prime times, as bass move shallow to spawn or feed aggressively before winter. Local tip: During the spring spawn, target shallow bays and coves with soft plastics like worms or creature baits. In the summer, switch to topwater lures early and late in the day, and then focus on deeper structure with crankbaits or jigs.
