Lake Forest Park offers some surprisingly good largemouth bass fishing opportunities, primarily within Lake Washington. While the lake is vast, focusing on the shallower, weedy areas and docks along the Lake Forest Park shoreline is key. The Sammamish River, which flows into Lake Washington, can also be a productive spot, especially during the spring spawning season. Early morning and late evening are typically the best times to fish, as the bass tend to move into shallower water to feed. A local tip: Try using weedless lures, such as Texas-rigged worms or spinnerbaits, to navigate the heavy vegetation. Lake Washington bass can be quite pressured, so using finesse techniques and lighter line can often make a difference. The largemouth in Lake Washington are known for their decent size, so be prepared for a good fight!
