Largemouth Bass

Woodland, Washington offers some surprisingly good Largemouth Bass fishing, primarily in the sloughs and backwaters connected to the Columbia River. The best time to target these bass is during the warmer months, from late spring through early fall. Look for largemouth around submerged vegetation, docks, and fallen trees – classic bass habitat. The backwaters around the Lewis River confluence can be particularly productive. A practical tip is to focus your efforts during the early morning or late evening hours when bass are most active. Topwater lures can be especially effective at these times. Be aware that some areas may have limited access, so research boat launches and public access points beforehand. The largemouth here tend to be opportunistic feeders, so don't be afraid to experiment with different lure types and presentations.
