Largemouth Bass

Beloit, Wisconsin, offers some surprisingly good Largemouth Bass fishing, especially in the Rock River and its connected sloughs and backwaters. The river's diverse structure, including submerged logs, weed beds, and rocky outcroppings, provides ideal habitat for bass. Early morning and late evening are particularly productive during the warmer months (late spring through early fall). A local tip is to target the areas around the numerous bridge pilings along the river, as bass often congregate there. Try using Texas-rigged worms or crankbaits to cover water efficiently. Also, be aware of the current, as it can influence bass positioning. The Rock River bass population is known for its healthy size, so you have a decent chance of landing a real trophy.
