Northern Pike

If you're targeting Northern Pike near Arcadia, Ohio, you'll want to focus your efforts on the Blanchard River and its associated tributaries and oxbows. While not known as a trophy pike destination, the Blanchard offers a chance to tangle with these ambush predators, especially during the spring spawning run and again in the fall as water temperatures cool. Early spring (late March-early May) is prime time, as pike move into shallower backwaters to spawn. Focus on areas with submerged vegetation or woody debris. A good access point is the public access ramp near Findlay, giving you access to a larger stretch of the river.
